Top 10 Media Revelations Done!

#1 Twitter is like the old Feed:

I have been thinking about how Twitter and web 2.0 is getting to much for me with the amount of useless information. Then when reading M.T. Anderson's book Feed, it really connected with me and how i thought about Twitter and web 2.0. When in the book they talk about Violet's dad having the old feed that you had to carry around so you can get the feeds. To me that seems alot like some one carrying around a Crackberry or Iphone around waiting to hear what people are saying or have done. I have also heard that companies are using it to give information/ sell their product, sounding alot like the feed right?

#2 Ownership:

I have taken the media class before this and we learned about ownership in the media world and how most of it is owned by 6 different companies. When reading Media/Society they talked about how certain companies would own all these different news outlets in a small area and as the nation as a whole(pg.36). It really got me thinking of what kind of power these people could have in these areas and with the other readings in the book it really brought the idea home. These people could control other peoples mind set on a certain topic that could effect polices or certain products, they could be doing this because they are getting payed a good amount of money or they own the company. It really makes me double think what i read to look for what motives might be behind it.

#3 Stereotypes:

I have always been stereotyped for being a skater, which means that you are a young kid who has no respect for authority and is just up to no good. I had always thought that this was in direct relation to a personal encounter that person might have had in the past and not so much what they see in the media outlets. Then when reading chapter 5 in Media/Society I started to put alot of things together about how people get a lot of their stereotypes. It is pretty apartent that the media outlets impose their idea of what the majority people see other people as. The thing that bothers me about this is that it is very easy for someone to let their own stereotypes in to it and it can give people like me a bad image.

I have always know that mine and other attention span was a short by looking at all the commercials and TV shows that are going on in the world. I would have never really thought to look in to the past and see how it was back then. When reading Amusing Ourselves to Death they talk about the debate with Douglas and Lincoln and how it took days and no one had a problem with how long that took. Then you fast forward to now and people have a hard time watching a 30 second clip. It is very easy to connect the this change to the change in our media. It seems as though things are coming to us faster and faster and we really do not have time to decode all the information. If this keeps going we will have a shorter and shorter attention span.

#5 Change of Presidential Debates:

I would have never thought about different kinds of debates from what i saw growing up until i read Amusing Ourselves to Death. When i read the part about Douglas and Lincoln debates and how much people seemed to care about it, that they would stay for days to just hear what the canidates had to say. Debates now is can be condensed in to the clips like the almost 2 hour one above. Something that also i found interesting was Corey's presentaion on the presdinatal debates. She said that debates these days are being run by an organization that says how long they are and that every question and answer are thought out a long time before hand. It seems as though the debates have shifted from informing us to some else gaining from them.

#6 Epistemology:

Before this class i never thought about how and why i know things in my life. Whether it is to what topics I'm learning in class or the things i take for granted on an every day basis. Then when i started to read Amusing Ourselves to Death (pg16) they talk about how media is becoming hwo people are learning way they know. This is a very uneasy fact to me. This would mean that what the people who own the media sources are controlling what you know. This will greatly limit to what people know about the world and will get brain washed to thinking the way you want. We need to break away from this and make some changes our there is going to be alot more books like Project Censored 2010.

#7 Curriculum Change:

Since i am going to Champlain i feel as though i am being told the most up to date techniques in marketing and what is going to be coming up next. I have been a little Resistant to this change thinking that it really was not the best change. I was thinking that it was dumbing down the world. Then when i read Teaching the Facebook Generation ,by one of our very own teachers ,it opened to myh eyes what it could really be used for. Then with also what i am learning in class how people are abusing it i feel as though i can combine both aspects and make things not as bad as i thought it was.

#8 Why are we censored:

When i took this class i had an idea that things were being blocked from us for many different reasons whether it was for political reasons or for profit reasons. After reading Project Censored 2010 it opened my mind to the exstent to what is going on behind our backs. I would have never thought that the American media would be blocking us from crimes so much and then when you look at other media across the world and they do tell you whats going on. Also in when you look at the Amussing Ourseleves to Death and Media/ Society it talks about how alot of people learn from our media sources. Why are people dumming us down? It also allows me to look at all of this with a critical eye so i do not fall victim to the misdirection.

#9 Convergence:

It was not till this semester that the word convergence had and meaning to me. Before i would just look at every media outlit as there own thing and no of them really connected besides the content from now and then. Then when i took this class and my marketing class with Young that i started to see that everything i use today can be connected with one another. When reading the Article "How Tiwtter Will Chnage the Way We Live" that you see how one of these emerging media is getting everything connect and is catching like wild fire. It seems like this will be great for getting people to connect with one another and tell new and interesting ways about their business whether it is twitter account or a workers blog. This is a good thing but also it can lead to bad things where it is making people dummer as Postman predicts in Amusing our Selves to death. Also go to look at Project Censored 2010, will it allow us to be more free from being cesnored or will it be another way for them to hold us back.

# 10 What i have taken away from this class

As i said before i did not have a idea what is really going on in media besides what i could see from an outside view. Which is the way that they would want you to think about it. This class really opened me up to my major and my life as a whole. I have learned that their are people behind it all that are controlling everything we see, which i learned through Media/ Society and then you can see their effect in Censored 2010. Then since not jsut leaving it on that the class showed me there are people out their that are making a change to make it better, like Mark Crispin Miller and Democracy Now. This really does make me feel better about the current world. Even know it may seem like i was a little repetitive with this blog post but there are so many more things i have taken away that i use in my everyday life. I hope i can use everything i learned and change the world i live in.

Media Mediations #8!!

When i was looking around for clips for the first couple media meditations i had found this clip of commercial that came out later last year. I thought at first that i wanted to find some different clips, but i thought this one was a funny one and i do love snowboarding. This clip came out when snowboard companies were trying to alter the snowboards to make them better and different than the rest. Ride Snowboards decided to make this new things that no one has done before and it was to make the sidewall of the snowboard out of urethane. This would make the sidewall a little more durable and ride a little different. To better understand the commercial most skateboard companies make their wheels out of urethane.
The first tool i used was the Brain of course. This is a very basic clip so i feel that they relay on using just pictures and music, which appeals to the Limbic Brain. I think they did it basic is because they know their audience and they know they just want to be entertained The next tool that i used for this was the Shifts. The first one was the Technological Shift, they had this video posted on to their own website and also shown on the opening slide show. They also had it on their Youtube and Vimeo account. Then then having it on those two places allowed people to comment and ask questions which touch's on the Personal Shift.
The last shift i noticed in this video was their choice to two versions of this video. One was made to be a 60 min commercial spot and the other one was set up to be a web video which i believe is an Aesthetic shift. There is one thing i did notice production wise on these episodes, you can tell that when they were filming the action parts of the movie it was from some one who does not do it normally but when it comes to the snowboarding they do a great job. I think they do a nice job of using humor through out that whole skit and having legendary snowboarder Mikey Leblanc act a stereotypical cop. I also guess you can even say they used group dynamics because how hasn't had to deal with a cop now and then for snowboarding.

Media Mediations #7

When i was looking around for videos i had found this video about going green. I knew it was very similar to the other 2 videos i posted before but i felt like the message was different and they definitely used some different tolls for his one. The first thing i wanted to check out was whole had made all of these videos since they were so similar. They are all produced by XplaneVisualThinking, which makes senses. The one thing that makes this video different is that they teamed up with The Economist to promote a conference that was going on in early November. So unlike the other videos this one was meant to inform people and get them to go some where.
The first tool as always i started with the Brain. I found that it appealed to the Limbic Brain by playing a kind of upbeat and positive music. I think they did this because they want to make people think they can really do something about this change going on. Then they went for the Neocortex with the text and the images backed it up. With that they wanted to get people to considered the past and see that things are not going to get better you need to do something, go to the conference. In this text they used Scientific Evidence to back up all of their claims about the change. They also used a testimonial right in the start to talk about the change and how its already getting underway.
They also create a reality around the whole thing by yes this whole thing is a huge task and it will take a long time to do but if we start now we can change this. Another tool i used in this was Shifts. The first thing they talked about was the Technological Shift. They said that technology we are using is great and has gotten us there but we need to make another change so it doesn't ruin our world. Then they are talking about the personal shift which is what everyone can do to help make this movement. Then they also talk about the Political, because all these countries are making changes to help the world by 2020. It says a lot that countries are willing to make a change

Media Mediations #6

I wanted to find some kind of clip that would talk about some good news story that was going on, but it was hard to find. I would look at the Times and BBC and did find some good ones but A lot for them seemed more like fluff or something that really didn't have any barring on my life. I took a look over at Democracy Now and i saw that they have just released a headline's of the week. When i was watching this news clip i actually had my dad watch it with me, who is a big fan of Fox News. He said i was a very interested in it and is going to look in to and see what it is all about.
Now back to looking in to this clip and see what Amy Goodman was trying to convey in this. The First tool i used was the Brain. They do a good job of getting both Neocortex and Limbic involved. They show video clips that i have never seen that make you think what is the regular news guys hiding. Then i feel like production technique is a good thing to go to next. In this clip they us A lot of grabs from other news channels to show how they are covering it and to add to Democracy Now story. I like this because it can show the spots that some of these other news casts may miss. This i think ties in to their value message very well. I think they want to deliver unbiased message about what is going on in the world.
I think another tool that is good for this is the Shifts. The first one that is addressed is the Political. They talk about all these things from people getting killed in the Philippines trying to go vote to People on trains in the United States getting hurt and even killed in some cases by the cops on the train and this all being done wrongfully. Then with the Technological Shift they put this on there website and Youtube. This allows people to comment on this and check the facts. Which leads in to the last thing is that they use Scientific evidence to support all there claims and some of them can be found easily on their website. I think its great that there are thigns like this that challenge the norm and makes people asks questions.

Media Mediations #5

I have to say that i really like videos like this. Like the Social Media and the Did You Know videos that i talked before, this video is talking about the most recent trends that are going on in our media today. They talk about how fast things are growing "So what used to fit in a building now fits in your pocket, what fits in your pocket now will fit inside a blood cell in 25 years.".That quote really has to make you think were is everything going to be in 50 years. The clip also shows a very important trend that is going on advertising world, and that is that the old way of getting your message is getting quickly replaced by the social media tools.
The first tool i used to go at this, as always, is the Brain. I feel out of the three videos like this this one has the best mix of Neocortex and Limbic. It plays a very nice mellow music that allows you to take in this pretty thought provoking text. The text in this one as well was set up so you can better read it and they also put some good pictures in this one to show what is going on. Like the other videos i think this video touched on some very important Shifts. The Technological shift was a pretty big one in this one, It had talked about how all the sizes of the tools is getting smaller and better.
The next shift is the Aesthetic Shift, Every single thing they are talking about is going towards the internet. All the people that used the paper and older fashion media tools are going to the internet. Everyone is coming to and connecting things so things are seamless. The last one they covered was about how McCain used the old way to get money and got 1 million dollars, but Obama used Social Networks and raised 55 million in the same amount of time. All these changes are really making me think about the future and how different it is from just 4 years ago.

Media Mediations #4

I really liked the one we watched in class that was about Social Media and how it is changing our culture. It also reminded me of this video that i had seen a while back that was done in a very similar manner. I just hope that this one wasn't done in the first class i had with Dr. W. This media clip is about how our world is changing faster than it has ever been before. It as definitely interesting video, especially how that India has more honor roll students than America has Students.
To better understand this text i used the tools that i learned in class. The first one i looked at was the Brain. This clip is pretty heavy Neocortex. It is all text that pops up very quickly and you have to read it with in 5 seconds or less. The text also builds on one anther so you have to read it very fast. This also has to do with pacing, since they do only give you that short amount of time ti read it. The Production of this video was very similar to the Social Media . They even used the same song in this clip. You can notice that they are having someone who is up to date with the information and the platform which they made this because it is very fitting to what is being produced and people my age will enjoy it.
The thing i think video has a big part is the Shifts. The first and i think most important is the Epistemological shift. It is talking about how radio started off slow and then every new thing has been excepted almost twice as fast as the thing before it. To me this shows that people are becoming more excepting to new things and will ultimately change how/how fast we learn things. Another shift that is important to touch on is the Technological Shift. Since this a is a media class, we need to be aware of what is coming next and is said how fast things have changed. In the clip they talk about how in 30 years or so there will be a computer that is smarter than the whole human race. Definitely something we should keep and eye out for.

Media Meditations Look back

I really wanted to keep going on the idea of snowboarding flicks but i feel as though if i keep going it will get very repeative. I will we looking for another types of videos to share tomorrow.

Media Meditation #3

I wanted to put this video up here for a nice contrast against the other two videos that i have already posted. This is a video that was made by California to get people to come to there because it is such an awesome place. The one thing i found odd is that i was trying to get the one that everyone has seen on T.V that talks about everything that is in California, not just winter sports. When i did found it said that it said it was disabled to be embedded by the owner. This was the same for every version of it i found. So i had to settle for a different version that for the most part showed what i wanted to.
When this happen the first thing that came to mind was ownership. It says on end of the clip that it is part of the state California. Which makes me wonder why would they not want people to be spreading their commercial around? Could it be that they do not want to be associated with someone they do not want to? This can also tag in to the Political Shift. Is California starting to regulate everything that goes out? i could see why they are doing this, who would want bad press.
When you goes in to the other tools they also used the Personal Shift. This video first was aired on tv but then was moved to Youtube. The thing that make me wonder is if they are allowing comments, some are pretty negative, why not allow people to embed the video. Another thing i find interesting is the production technique and the Reality Construction. This is a nice way to show the difference between snowboard media and people who are trying to make money off of the sport. You can see that the person filming the video does not know the right angle's and they miss part of the riders in the shot, which would never happen in a real snowboard video.

Media Meditation #2

2010 Machete Commercial from Ride Snowboards from Ride Snowboards on Vimeo.

When looking in to finding other snowboard videos and commercials it is kind of hard. This is a new concept that snowboard companies have been getting in to. The one that i had found was Ride Snowboards Machete Commercial. This is to introduce their new board design that is a step above the rest. To better understand this I'll give a quick break down of this new trend. The old snowboarder were cambered, which means it is bent like an A. Then all the new snowboards coming out are either flat or bent in the opposite direction so its more like a U. So now every company is trying to find the best mix of these things.
The First tool i used to look at this piece of media was the Brain. The first part of the brain that it hits is the Limbic. It hits you up with this heavy playing music that goes through out the whole clip. I feel as though the music makes you think eager and get engaged with the clip. I feel as though it effects the Neocortex. There is the text that comes up at the end of the clip and it talks about all the awards that it has won and also shows the symbols of the award. The next tool i used was the Shifts. They used similar personal shifts that the Rome Video. This video was posted on their youtube account, they also used their twitter account to get the word out, and also made it easy for people to share it like i am doing. Then the last shift is Economic Shift. Ride has recently signed up with 2 other companies in the industry, which made me think is this why they have just started to produce commercials?
The next tool i covered was the principles. They did a great job of reality construction, they were able to portray snowboarding in a proper light. Unlike many snowboard commercials they kept it simple and let the snowboarding do the talking. The next thing which can tie in to the Reality was the Production tech. The person who made this commercial was definitely some one who is familiar with snowboard videos. Which is something that every commerical should have that has snowboarding or skateboarding in it. Their value message also tied in with their production tech in showing that their snowboard make you ride better. Then the last tool i looked at was persuasive techniques. They used both their own symbols and they used the logos of the magazines that tested their boards out. They used testimonials by have all of a big mix of their riders riding the board and doing very well. Then lastly who could forget the warm fuzzies. Who can forget about all of the fun you have snowboarding.

Media Meditation #1

Will It Break:

I thought it would be interesting to look at something different than we might see in class. The first one is a series of commercials that Rome Snowboards has been doing this season. It is a skit that shows how their products are better than most house hold items. They do this in Rome style by destroying the other things with their product, in this one they use the Libertine boot.
It was very weird to look at these commercials with our 4 tool set instead of looking at them for just pure enjoyment.
The first tool i used was the Brain. I noticed that they used Halloween type music which applies to your limbic brain. This will unlock all those memories of going around and getting free candy and possible some misbehaving, Not that any one does that. The next thing i looked at was the shifts. The first shift i noticed was the Technological. This is a trend that all snowboard companies are going through. It isn't till recently they have been using heavy internet. They would use print media and sales reps to get the word out. This leads in to another shift, personal. Rome Snowboards is making head way over the rest of the compines in the area. When this video came out they tweeted this on their account, the posted it on their site then soon was posted on their own youtube account. Then after that people like me could comment or post this on their blog.
The next tool i looked at was the Principles. The first one i looked at was the "Reality" Construction. Since i worked there and i know everyone, they want you to think they are running around and doing this but the first place is someones house and then the next place is the office it self. Pretty Tricky. Then the next one is the Emotional Transfer. They posted this around Halloween so they are looking to get people think about it,so they use the music and the pumpkins to get it on your mind. They also make you think of the day before Halloween to do those "things". Then the last one they touch on is value message is that Rome is just like everyone else and they have fun on the holidays. Then they also used a few persuasive techniques. The used testimonials and saying that EIKI and LNP use the boots. They use Humor through out this whole thing by destroying things and doing "tests". Then they use symbols through the whole thing as well by having the Rome star.

Media Meditations

When i first starting this class i would have never thought of snowboarding in the eyes as every other type of company out there. Then i started to look at the commercials and all the magazines and started to see that they us all of the same tools everyone else does. I'm going to try to use this space to shed light on to some of the industries top guys and see what they are doing.

Project Censored 2010 Oral Presentaion Part 3

In my research it seems as though this is a true story. When i look at news papers like the New York Times. They would have articles like Ethan Bronner's "Outcry Erupts Over Reports That Israel Used Phosphorus Arms on Gazans". IN this Article they would talk about how white phosphorous "could" be used in the bombings in Gaza. They also use the word Likely when they are talking about the accusations of war crimes. The one thing they do not talk about is how they are military weapons they are suing and that we are supporting them.
This is the same thing you see for most news outlets in America like the Christian Science Monitor. It is not until you get to News Channels that are outside of America. Places like Times London, The Observer, The Independent, and the Irish Times that you see coverage of these things but are also limited as well. You can see some blogs and web sites, The New American Foundation, here and there talking about how we spend Billions supporting Israel and the Israeli Military is on in the same of the American Military.

Personal Part 2

  1. The first thing that i learned about was how Niel Postman thought about the change from verbal to the beginning of the typographic mind. I had always thought that it was just now that things are changing the way life is but since the beginning of time things have been changing and i bet people back then were at the cross roads we are at now.
  2. The next thing i learned was about how Cusico talked about the evolution of every thing. He talked about how this is the next evolutionary step that humans have to make just like back at Lake Toba. It makes it a little more comforting to step in to the future.
  3. Then you go to Carr who talks about how the advent of the internet is making people stupider than ever. It talks about how people have a shorter attention span and people are having a hard time concentrating on things. I never really thought of this but kids must have been so patient back in the day when all they had to play with was a rock and a stick.
  4. The last thing i have taken away from this was everything as a whole has changed my view point on the topic of modern media. It has shown me that change is not a bad thing it just needs to be in braced and used for good and hopefully we can avoid what Carr was taking about.

Personal Part 1

1. My name is Joseph Gaynor, but everyone calls me Joe. I am a Marketing Management major at Champlain College. The biggest reason why i came up here was to be closer to the snowboard industry. This summer i was lucky enough to intern at Rome Snowboards and got to learn about how the industry works. While doing the intern i was put in charge of this project called Shop Profiles. Shop Profiles was to call up shops all over North America to interview them and gather some pictures, it was later posted on their site. I recently have been getting in to video editing again and was able to create this new edit a few days ago, which is posted below this. I also am in charge of the Ski and Ride Club at Champlain College. We have recently created a Twitter and a Blog for the club. I'm new to this whole Blog thing but i think I'm getting a handle of it.

3.I have already been familiar with the four tool set in an earlier class with Dr.W. Since that first class i always have been thinking of them when i watch any TV or see any type of advertisement. It really makes you think about how people are trying to get in your head to sell their goods or services. It helps now tht I'm aware of what they are trying to do so i can try to avoid being sucked in by the media.

4.After reading Feed and my preconceived notions about media, Will media turn out for the better of mankind or make us in to mindless drones.

Part 2 coming soon..

Postman Part 2

1. Discuss THREE specific ways in which Postman explains how the medium of television transforms the epistemological nature of each of the following:

A. Public discourse about religion

B. Public discourse about politics

C. Public discourse about education

2. What specific solutions does Postman offer to improve public communication in our "Peek A Boo" world, and our challenges to communicate in a thoughtful and rational manner in "An Age of Show Business"? In other words, how might we prevent a world in which we are "amusing ourselves to death"?

3. HARD Question: Does Postman's thesis about television still apply to our public discourse in today's Age of the Internet? Please explain your reasoning in 4-5 sentences.

1. A: I think that post man talks about religion very well in chapter 8. He talks about Reverend Terry having big productions that make it look like a TV show and the one story that amazes me is with the 700 club they ad a member reenacts them self seeing the light for change and it was them seeing the 700 club TV show on TV. It shows that it is moving away from giving the message of god to showmanship, as if they are competing with the top TV show at the time.

B: In the beginning of the book Postman talks about how Lincoln and Douglas would talk for hours and days and people would come all over to watch them speak about very important topics. Then later in the book he is talking abut the debate between Ron and Fritz. Their debate was all about looking good for the screen, it had been shortened so that it could fit in a normal show block, and they were using jokes during their speeches. Postman states “Thus, the leader of the free world is chosen by the people in the age of the television.”(pg.97). To me this means that they are dummying down politics and turning in to more of a popularity contest.

C: I think a good example how education is changing in our TV world is the story of Charles Pine. Mr. Pine was awarded professor of the year by the council for the support and advancement of education. He had won this because he copied a skit he saw on the Yankee doodle dandy show. This is surprising that a tv show can help a teacher win an award in teaching. It seems as though education is turning more in to a show to keep your attention like TV then teaching you the facts.

2. Postman talks about a few different things you can do. The first one and I think the most important one is to have media education like this class and other ones on campus. It will allow us to know all the ways TV is trying to persuade you in to its hole. Also another thing which ties in to the first part is to be aware at all time what is being shown to you and know why its being shown to you that way.

3. I think that it might even be more relevant to the Internet than the TV. The Internet is even more things that have no importance to you and your learning but is taking precedence, such as you tube, Twitter, Facebook and many others. These sites are just like peek-a-boo world the present useless information and then most of them have pop ups which is things that have no relevance to you but is trying to sell it to you. It is also talking away from typographic times because people can post things with out even checking them and there is also all this lingo that is made to shorten sentences.

Postman Part 1

Part 1

1. Describe three specific characteristics of the "Typographic Mind."

2. Postman suggests that the twin inventions of 19th century Telegraphy and Photography challenged Typography's monopoly on public discourse. How, specifically did each of these two new media/communications inventions do this?

3. What does Postman mean by "The Peek-A-Boo World," and can you give an example of this world from your own media experiences?

1.The three specific characteristics of typographic mind starts with the attention span of the person receiving it. Back when Douglas and Lincoln did their speeches people would site around for hours on end to hear them speech on the subject. This wasn’t just for this event people would travel far and wide to see their favorite author at their local lecture hall. Since this was all before the time of any other kind of entertainment this was the big thing to do, so people would want to get the most out of it.
The thing that also set this apart from any thing that has come after it was that their speeches were very well thought out. Lincoln and Douglas had their whole speeches planned out and even their rebuttals. This allowed them to be as full with information and still sound good instead of them stumbling around. Another part of this was the fact that the speaker could expect the audience to know a lot about the topic so he could use sophisticated words and get in depth with the topic and know that they would not get lost. This kind of speech does not exist today.
Then lastly Typographic mind was more thought provoking. This was because you don’t have a blogger who could post something in 2 seconds with out thinking about it. In those days their was only books and news papers which took some time to get produced so the writers would make sure that they were as good as they could be and offer the most to the reader. It also was the man form of entertainment and education so everyone was doing so you had to out due the person next to you.

In the Time of Typographic it took a very long time for things to get out and if any thing most of it was local news and things that really were important/ effected the reader. Then when the Telegraph came out you would be able to find out news from across the country and people were wicked excited to see what was going on around them. So it started to slowly filter in to the news and everything around them. This change was not really a good thing because people would start learning/ be more interested in a fire out west than the one that was right down the street. This news from afar was taking over the news that people really need to know. The way I feel it was the start of the dumb down of the news to things we do not need to know. Then Photographs came in to lay and they added to this problem. Soon people would be able to see pictures of distant lands that they never seen or could image seeing. This was a great step forward for the world but I feel like the telegraph it took away more from know the things that were really important.

3. A Peek-a-Boo world means the gathering of information that was not important to people and their community. When reading the book it seemed like he was talking about how people would get a news clip about some kind of event out west and it would be there one min and then it would get replaced by something new that had maybe even lesser importance. This seemed to get started with the telegraph because you would be able to contact people from Maine to Texas and since they didn’t have any thing to tell them to improve their lives they would talk about small talk. Like is stated before I feel like it was the start of what our media is today because it was used in the wrong way. In modern day media I feel like Peel-a-Boo would have to be every news story about some local person in North Dakota who had lost their car or something bad happened to them but is only covered that one time and then the news moves on to something else more important.
